About What's My Purpose Butter Robot
The "What's My Purpose" Butter Robot meme originates from the animated sci-fi sitcom "Rick and Morty" (Season 1, Episode 9). In the scene, a newly activated small robot asks Rick, "What is my purpose?" Rick replies, "You pass butter." The robot looks at its hands in existential dread and asks, "Oh my god." Rick bluntly responds, "Yeah, welcome to the club." This meme is widely used to express existential dread, a sense of insignificance, or humorous resignation about performing mundane, trivial, or soul-crushing tasks in daily life or work.
